Southern Smothered Pork Chops in Brown Gravy

the best we've ever had.

  • 4 Pork Chops
  • 1 Sliced Onion
  • 1 + 1/2 Cups Sliced Mushrooms
  • 4 Minced Cloves Garlic
  • 8 Tbs Divided Butter
  • 4 Tbs Flour
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1/2 Tbs Parsley
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Melt 4 Tbs butter in saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion, mushrooms & garlic until browned. Remove & set aside.

Melt remaining 4 Tbs butter and stir in flour. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until flour is deep brown.

Add vegetables & parsley. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Coat large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat.

Season pork chops with salt & pepper & brown in hot pan, 5 – 7 mins per side.

Add gravy mix from saucepan.

Cover & cook over low heat 30 – 40 mins, or until tender.
