Gingerbread Cake Cookies

the best we've ever had.

  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice
  • 1/2 tsp Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 8 Tbs Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable Shortening
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2/3 Cup Molasses
  • 1 Egg

Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, salt & pepper.

Cream together butter & shortening. Add brown sugar & beat until fluffy.

Beat in molasses & egg. Gradually mix in flour mix. Refrigerate 3 hrs in 2 halves.

Preheat oven to 325.

Dip top of ball in sugar.

Bake 10 – 12 mins.
