Deep Dish Pizza

the best we've ever had.

  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 3 Tbs Cornmeal
  • 1 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 3/4 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 3 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 4 Tbs Melted Butter
  • 1 Cup Lukewarm Water
  • Pasta Sauce
  • 3/4 lb Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 lb Cooked Sausage
  • Parmesan

Mix dough ingredients & knead 7 mins. Place dough in lightly oiled bowl & let rise 60 mins.

Ready springform pan with vegetable spray, then pour olive oil to cover bottom & partway up sides of pan.

Stretch dough to make as large a circle as possible. Lay in pan & stretch towards edge until begins to shrink back. Cover & let rest 15 mins.

Preheat oven to 425.

Stretch dough to cover bottom & up sides of pan. Let rest 15 mins.

Bake 10 mins.

Cover bottom of crust with mozzarella. Add meat & any other vegetables you desire. Top with sauce. Put additional cheese on top, if desired. Sprinkle with parmesan.

Bake 25 mins.

Allow to cool 15 mins.

 

*Note: if dough seems dry, may add up to 2 Tbs more water.
